While Corona Test is under huge demand everyday, the different test types can be difficult to distinguish. Read before your order, and make the most of your decisions.
Recently in the Netherlands, there are still more than 5000 new COVID-19 cases increasing everyday, which means corona test is under huge demand. While our customers supply their clients throughout Europe, it is important to distinguish what test should be provided for what institutions and patients.
Antibody Test
Accessible and rapid test that detects antibody in the blood. This test can determine whether one has previously been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and / or has recovered from it.
This test has a Sensitivity rate of 86.43% and Specificity of 99.57%. Patients who are suspected to have infection are provided with antibody test, which can be tested by households or companies under professional supervision.
Antigen Test
Accessible and rapid test that detects antigen in either blood or throat tissues. Antigen Rapid Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay for the detection of COVID-19 antigen to SARS-CoV-2 virus in human Throat/Nasopharyngeal swab.
This rapid test uses a cotton swab that goes into the nose or throat cavity to collect mucus. This is then mixed with a special diluent liquid to test. Patients who are suspected to have infection are suggested to do antigen test by health care professionals.
Wondfo Antigen Test is a rapid test which provides results in 15-20 minutes. It has a Sensitivity rate of 96.18% and Specificity of 99.72%.
PCR Test
PCR test is intended to be used by medical professionals at laboratories. To achieve qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA, PCR test kits collects sample by nasopharyngeal swabs, oropharyngeal swabs, sputum and BALF from patients. PCR test is only used for patients who have relevant symptoms of Coronavirus.
The novel coronaviruses belong to the β genus.COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease. People are generally susceptible. Currently, the patients infected by the novel coronavirus are the main source of infection; asymptomatic infected people can also be an infectious source. This is detectable by PCR test.
The test result is usually available in 24-48 hours.
