What does ‘certified’ face masks mean?

Face masks are becoming a necessity in this pandemic time. When something is protecting our lives and is in contact to our skin, we need to make sure that it is in good quality. Various types of face masks exist in the market, but what is the deference? Basically, there are non-medical face masks, medical masks, surgical masks and those that are not qualified to protect us from virus like corona.

But what does those certificates mean?
CE
- CE certification indicates that the product complies with the applicable rules within the European Economic Area. The product is in accordance with European regulations.
ISO
- ISO certification demonstrates that the product meets the expectations of the customers. For some industries, certification is a legal or contractual requirement.
TÜV Rheinland
- founded in 1872, TÜV Rheinland is a renown institution focuses on certification, inspection and safety and is active in the technology sector. The certification assigned by TÜV Rheinland stands for safety and quality
Intertek
- Intertek is a London based institution for product testing and certification. Through their network of over 46,000 people in 1,000 laboratories and offices in 100 countries, Intertek provides quality and safety testing of their clients products.
